'MYST' The Movie
“Mom! I really want to go see the movie in which the star never talks, just walks and solves puzzles!” It has been announced that Myst will be turned into a movie franchise. To be fair, Myst is an important game and a pretty unique experience. But is it really enough to adapt into a movie? Sure, there are characters in the game series, but it’s a pretty gloomy experience. ...

Justifications about the Top 5 →
This is a reply to thestump Having a hard time with the selection here… First - we’re talking about a decade worth of film making here - and this is what was deemed the “most influential”?  Seriously, Shrek? Hell yes Shrek! More than half of the animation that we see today is directly influenced by the success of Shrek. A studio that made hand drawn animation for about 70 years closed down...

Top 5 Most Influential Movies of the 00's
Influence only measures the effects of the popularity, not the quality. 1. Bourne Identity Action in the 90’s meant a movie with Arnold or Sylvester. So it was all about the explosions, the one-liners and the muscles. Bourne Identity was the complete opposite. The screenplay was smart, the action was realistic and Matt Damon at the time was more known for Good Will Hunting than actually...

Who Shouldn't Play Superman
While everyone is trying to guess who the next Superman will be, I think we should focus on the contrary instead. So who shouldn’t play Superman? Ryan Reynolds How many superheroes can he play? Besides, if they ever plan a Justice League movie, he would have to play both Supes and the Green Lantern. Donald Glover Look, it was nice to see you try for Spider-man, and I liked the...

Once again, let me remind you that it was made two years ago and that my videos are much better now. (video after the jump)

Mel Gibson does TV now
That’s right, Mel Gibson will make a comeback on Mad Men as a guest appearance. Let’s all remember that Mel Gibson refused to star in Lethal Weapon 5 as well as Mad Max 4 before the tape scandal. When Stallone wanted to make a comeback you know what he did? Rambo 4, Rocky 6 and The Expendables. Is TV a step forward? Sure, Mad Men is a well written show, but he just doesn’t...

The History of Warner Bros : Part 1
Before we start I need to mention that the video was made two years ago. My English has now improved considerably and my videos are more dynamic. Also, it’s probably not a bad idea to take a look at the official documentaries by Warner if you want a more accurate version of the story. I’ll probably remake the video someday, because I feel slightly embarrassed.

Goodfellas : The TV Series
20 years later, it’s hard to imagine someone denying the quality of Goodfellas. It’s certainly a classic that helped to create a more realistic approach to the genre than movies The Godfather. The Sopranos, for instance, are admittedly inspired by it. Since Scorsese made the HBO ratings explode with Boardwalk Empire, I guess that tv networks are showing a great inretest at the...

Casting King of Kong : Billy Mitchell
Now that Steve Weibe reclaimed the title of Donkey Kong champion from the legendary Billy Mitchell, it’s time to revisit the documentary King of Kong. Apparently, a movie adaptation is in the works right now, so here’s my casting: 1.Ben Stiller He’s probably the best choice. Although, I’m not exactly talking about the silly Ben Stiller that we saw in Zoolander and...

Judge says : Disturbia isn't a rip-off of Rear...
According to Judge Laura Taylor Swain, Disturbia has nothing more than similarities with Rear Window. “The main plots are similar only at a high, unprotectable level of generality.”, the judge said.”Where ‘Disturbia’ is rife with sub-plots, the short story has none. The setting and mood of the short story are static and tense, whereas the setting and mood of...

yourmindblown: Calponia harrisonfordi is a species of spider discovered in 1993 by the arachnologist Norman I. Platnick, and named after the film actor Harrison Ford to thank him for narrating a documentary for the London Museum of Natural History. It would have been more awesome with snakes though.

The Movie Doc's Prescription (SEPTEMBER 10th)
I’m Still Here by Cassey Affleck. Even if I’m not 100% behind the idea, it’s still pretty original. It could be funny and even touching. It takes a lot of courage (and stupidity) to throw away your career like that for the sake of a mockumentary. The Romantics directed by Galt Niederhoffer It looks interestingly okay. The tone reminds me a little of the movies Indian...
