On a test screening card for The Muppets, a 7 year old kid wrote under Things I Do Not Like: Gary’s Face (in other words, Jason Segel’s face).

Disney framed it, sent it to Segel and wrote: To keep you humble.

Why Bill Murray is Turning Down Ghostbusters 3

Bill Murray was never the first choice to play Venkman. The role was written for Belushi, but when he died Colombia offered him the part.
Bill Murray accepted, but made a deal with Colombia to greenlight the spiritual movie Razor’s Edge.
Murray starred in GB2 only because he was obligated. Murray hated the experience and swore to never do sequels again in his life.
Murray did shoot a sequel for Garfield, but that story is pretty weird. In fact, he signed for Garfield thinking that it was written by one of the Coen brothers. It turns out (quite obviously) that it wasn’t. Once again, he had an obligation to do a sequel.
With Groundhog Day, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis had a fallout. Ramis wanted to do a comedy and Murray felt that the story needed to be more spiritual.
Ghostbusters 3 is written by the screenwriters of Year One, which was very poorly received…and directed by Ivan Reitman (director of Ghostbusters…and possibly Ghostbusters 3).
Ivan Reitman has made bad comedies one after another in the recent years.
Dan Aykroyd wasn’t up for it a few years ago.
