Seeing the names of Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Edgar Wright attached to one of my favorite comic book series growing up is a dream come true.
I’m geeking the hell out!

Movie Trailer Analysis: Green Lantern

The 4 minutes long Wonder-Con trailer for Green Lantern is now online on Apple.

Target audience:

Super-hero movies usually aim for males between 11-25 years old. As we can see, the main female character is only shown in a glimpse, which means that her role is quite superficial to the story.

Bad acting face

Tone:

The first trailer was terribly campy (and in a bad way). The second one tries to show how serious and epic this movie can be. It’s nice to see that it’s not exactly like Batman & Robin, but you can still pick up a few cheesy moments like Reynolds talking to the lantern (how painfully unfunny is that?).

In comparison, Andrew Garfield might look less iconic, but the character feels a lot more authentic. So far, what we’ve seen looks intriguing and could turn out great.
Let’s not forget that Peter Parker is supposed to be a regular geeky/nerd kid after all. If you look at Garfield’s costume, you can see some imperfections. It doesn’t scream HOLLYWOOD COSTUME, that’s what makes it great!
